Dorf- & Stadterneuerung is committed to regional and municipal development in Lower Austria. It provides support as a process facilitator, funding guide, moderator and advisor as well as a contact point for municipalities and regions. In 2024, Dorf- & Stadterneuerung set out to find the people who make village life really worth living. These were honored as village heroes.

Over 800 visitors attended the Village & Town Forum on Friday, June 14, 2024 in Reinsberg - including more than 100 village heroes from all over Lower Austria who were nominated for this award by the municipality due to their commitment. There was not only a fantastic musical accompaniment from regional orchestras, but also exciting discussion rounds and presentations where people could be inspired by best practice examples. I accompanied the event visually and captured it in pictures. These were not only used on site as a summary, but also afterwards for reporting and a booklet in which you can read about the event again.
