The postdoc conference at the University of Vienna was a wonderful opportunity for me to visually capture exciting ideas and discussions about the questions, needs and challenges of postdocs and to immerse myself in the topic. On June 10, the conference took place in the university's beautiful Sky Lounge with a view over the whole of Vienna. I was there live and my pen hardly stood still - so many interesting ideas!

I found Vice Rector Manuela Baccarini's vision of supporting postdocs with tailored career opportunities particularly inspiring. One highlight was definitely the sentence "Being a postdoc is not a career" - a strong message. The international best-practice examples from London and Leuven also impressed me and provided material for discussion, which I made visually tangible together with the concepts presented. The discussions about the situation in Austria and the political framework conditions also showed how much potential there is in this topic. I have captured all these ideas in my visuals and hope they help to make the vision of the University of Vienna for postdocs vivid and alive.

A special highlight: the graphic recording pictures were printed out on site as flyers for the participants as soon as they were finished so that they could discuss the pictures during the breaks and take them home as a souvenir at the end.
