The "Trade Union Actionism and Mobilization" conference offered participants the unique opportunity to try out new, creative forms of action and gain valuable inspiration for their future trade union work. In four different workshops, the participants not only learned about innovative methods, but were also inspired to plan and implement their own actions.

One highlight of the event was the flash mob workshop, led by two representatives of the "Theater of the Oppressed". They showed how powerful this form of activism can be in public spaces. Marc showed the participants how they can design their own actions using simple resources and creative materials. His practice-oriented methods encouraged them to effectively stage trade union messages with few resources. Oliver Hangl, known for his impressive performances in public spaces, gave exciting insights into how art and activism can merge in public to draw attention to important issues. The event was rounded off by the ÖGB communications team, which held a workshop on the digital processing and follow-up of actions to show how digital media can be used to disseminate and document actions in the long term.

I accompanied the entire event visually and was able to immerse myself in the workshops, which were not only exciting but also very practical. The illustrations not only helped us to reflect on what we had learned, but also served as a conclusion and summary of the conference and motivated us to apply creative approaches in our own trade union context in the future.
